Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II, head of the Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church, blessed devotees at Meenangadi in Wayanad on Thursday.
Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II, head of the Jacobite Syriac Orthodox Church, arrived right here on Thursday night for a glittering reception on the Sree Kandappa Memorial Stadium, the place he landed in a helicopter from Bengaluru.
A whole bunch of worshipers thronged the stadium as he was formally welcomed by Metropolitan of Malabar Diocese Mor Stephanos Geevarghese, Wayanad District Panchayat President Samshad Marakkar and monks.
Addressing the viewers on the Metropolitan Palace right here after attending a prayer, the patriarch mentioned although he had visited the state twice, he had not been capable of go to Malabar. Largely, his journey was restricted to Puthencruz and Ernakulam areas because the roads in Malabar weren’t good, the patriarch mentioned. He added that he would carry the problem to the eye of the Chief Minister.
His route by means of the district features a Holy Mass and Morning Prayer at St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral, Meenangadi, at 8.30 am on Friday. He’ll go away for Kozhikode at 1 pm
